Where is my data stored?
Your data stays where it already is. Your SQL Server database remains the single source of truth, and dab AI Analyst is deployed into your own Azure subscription. AI Analyst only runs read-only queries against your database to answer your questions, and it never copies your data to dab.
The expert knowledge that AI Analyst uses in addition comes from the dab Knowledge Hub. Your AI Analyst queries the Knowledge Hub over a private link so that it can combine your data with the SAP and analytics expertise of dab.
Can dab see my conversations with AI Analyst?
No. All conversations remain in your own Azure tenant, in the resources created by your deployment. dab has no access to them.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. The AI Analyst uses the Azure OpenAI model deployment created in your own subscription. Microsoft does not use data submitted to the Azure OpenAI Service to train models, and dab does not receive your data.
Can I modify my data with AI Analyst?
No. The AI Analyst should access your database with a read-only user and only runs SELECT queries. It analyzes your data and answers questions about it, and it cannot change it.
Can I use the AI Analyst without a license for the dab Knowledge Hub?
No. The Knowledge Hub supplies the SAP and analytics expertise that makes the answers of AI Analyst valuable in the first place. Without it, the agents would only see raw data and could not put it into a business context. A Knowledge Hub license is therefore part of every AI Analyst deployment.
Can I rely on the results of the AI Analyst without checking them?
The AI Analyst is built on generative AI, so its answers should be treated as well-founded expert input rather than as an audited result. It works directly on your analytic run results and on the expert knowledge of dab, which makes its answers traceable back to your own data.
We recommend that you verify an insight against the underlying analytic results before you act on it, exactly as you would with any other analysis that a colleague hands you.
Which questions can the AI Analyst answer?
The AI Analyst answers questions about the results of your dab AnalyticSuite analytic runs, for example what an analytic does, how findings relate to each other, and which business process is behind them. It works on the data that dab Nexus exports and the dab AnalyticSuite analyses into the results schema of your database.
