Connection to Fabric

Important

Before creating one of the following connections, please note the following:

  1. These types of Connections must be licensed separately
  2. All requirements must be met – the information you need can be found here

Overview

In the overview you can see all Connections that currently exist. You can search for a specific Connection, adjust the column selection or create a new Connection with the button New Connection.


Fabric Mirrored Database

Creation

Go to Settings > Connections, click on New Connection and Fabric Mirrored Database. Enter a name for the new Connection.

Tenant ID - you can find the Tenant ID in the Azure Portal under Microsoft Entra ID. Client ID - you can find the Client ID in the Azure Portal in your App Registration.

Authentication Type

  • Basic Authentication: enter Username and Password (this doesn't support Multi-Factor Authentication!)
  • Service Principal: enter the Service Principal Key (this is the Client ID or Appliation ID in Azure Portal from the Enterprise Application)
  • User Assigned Managed Identity and System Assigned Manged Identity: must be created in Azure

After you've entered all necessary information, click on Login with Microsoft. If you're using a Service user, you have to click the Request API Consent button and approve the requested authorizations. If the connection was successful, the two buttons will be replaced with Reset Authentication.

Fabric Workspace - select one of the available Workspaces Fabric Mirror - depending on the Workspace you've chosen, you can select a Mirrored Database

Test Connection - if the connection test fails, you'll get possible solutions. You can also see more details about the possible issue.


Fabric Lakehouse

Go to Settings > Connections, click on New Connection and Fabric Lakehouse. Enter a name for the new Connection.

Tenant ID - you can find the Tenant ID in the Azure Portal under Microsoft Entra ID. Client ID - you can find the Client ID in the Azure Portal in your App Registration.

Authentication Type

Permissions

Note

If you don't select any Teams or Users, all Users of dab Nexus can use this Connection. If you select one or more Teams or Users, only these can use the Connection.


Edit

You can edit an existing Connection. Just click on their name in the overview and you get back to the settings of the Connection.


Deletion

Important

The deletion of a Connection can affect active (scheduled) Tasks and may cause them to fail. This deletion cannot be undone.
