Snowflake

The Snowflake Connection is an extension to dab Nexus. Therefore it must be licensed separately.

Click on Settings at the top, then on Connections on the left side and create a new Snowflake connection with the button + Connection.

Enter a name for the new connection.


General

  • Organization Name: you find the name of the organisation in your Snowflake account settings
  • Account Name: you find the account name in your Snowflake account settings
  • Use Proxy: this control specifies whether the JDBC-Driver should use a proxy

If the Proxy slider is not activated, continue with the Authentication selection.

If the Proxy slider is activated, the following Proxy server details must be configured:

  • Proxy Host: Hostname of the Proxy server
  • Proxy Port: Portnumber of the Proxy server
  • Proxy Username: Username to authenticate the Proxy server
  • Proxy Passwort: Password to authenticate the Proxy server
Authentication
  • Username: Username for authentication
  • Authentication: there are 3 methods for authentication:
  1. Username and Password
    - enter a Password
  2. JWT certificate
    - Private Key File Path
    - Private Key File Password
  3. OAuth Token
    - enter the token value for OAuth
Database
  • Database: click the button Refresh Snowflake Databases, then select your database from the dropdown menu
  • Restrict schema usage in task creation: when the slider is activated, you can select the Available schemes from your database
  • Available schemas in task creation: choose from the Dropdown menu
  • Warehouse: select the Warehouse, when you have choosen the database

Permissions

Here you can assign permissions for the connection. It is possible to assign permissions for teams and users.


Create & Close

Once you have entered all the necessary settings, you can save the new connection and close the editor. You will automatically return to the overview of all connections already created.
