What is the Monitor?
You can only see the Runs, Tasks, Resources, etc. in the Monitor that you are authorised to see.
The permissions are defined in the respective elements and apply to SAP Systems, SQL Systems, Connections, Workspaces, Tasks and the Runs they contain, Analysis Groups and Packages.
From version 1.16, the Monitor is available in dab Nexus. You can find it at the top of the screen in the overview under Monitor.
This view provides you with a range of information. You can see lists of Runs, Tasks and Resources. For example, you can see when which Tasks and Runs were performed, which of them were successful or failed, how long the Run took, etc.
You can filter by Date, Task Type, when the last Run was performed, how much data was extracted in that Run, and which Tags or Connections were used.
Depending on whether you have selected Runs, Tasks or Resources, you can change and move the columns in the Overview to suit your needs.
You can find out all the details about the different views in the Monitor in the following articles.
Basic Monitor design
The structure has three basic sections:
- Toolbar
- Graphs
- Tables
Toolbar
- Runs, Tasks & Resources: here you can switch between the different views of the monitor. For detailed information on each view, see the corresponding articles in this section.
- Data rages: here you can select a time period and how many entries or days you want to see. You cannot set a future date.
- Search: you can further narrow down the results by entering search terms. The filter accesses the following fields (depending on the view): Task name/Resource name, Task type & Workspace
- Filters: you can add more filters to the table. The filters vary according to the selected view. You can remove all filters by clicking Reset Filters.
- Column Overview: you can add columns to those displayed by default. Click Reset to default to return to the default selection. The column order can be changed by drag-and-drop.
Graphs
You can see information about the content displayed in the table - divided into four graphs. Each graph contains 10 points evenly distributed over the selected time period.
You see the following information:
- Success Rate: shows the success rate over the selected period and the exact percentage
- Data Volume: shows the amount of data extracted from SAP in KB (kilobytes), MB (megabytes), GB (gigabytes), etc.
- Average Duration: shows the average execution time in s (seconds), m (minutes), h (hours), etc.
- Total Duration: totals the duration of all runs in the selected period (displayed as Average Duration)
Tables
Depending on the view, all important information is displayed in the table. Depending on the column you have selected and the amount of data you have, you can scroll down or to the right. Click on the column header to quickly sort the column alphabetically in ascending or descending order. A third click on the heading will reset the sorting to the default.
