Technical Aspects

  • I have a perpetual version of the dab: exporter, what do I have to consider?

When updating to version 4.2, ACL is no longer available as a target format, as versions >= 4.2 no longer support it. You can still use the dab:Exporter, but with ACL format only via versions < 4.2. Switching to ACL Connector for SAP is strongly recommended here.

  • I have a subscription version of the dab: Exporter, what do I have to consider?

In order to continue exporting data directly to Galvanize products in the future, you must switch to ACL Connector for SAP as part of the next renewal.

  • What do I have to consider when switching?

The existing RFC module that was previously used in connection with the dab:Exporter must be updated. Existing SAP users can continue to be used with slight modifications. Manual and details can be found with following link: https://knowledge.dab-europe.com/l/en/article/qsn310ff43-dabhelp-dabexporter-installation-sap-rfc-installation-guide

  • I only use the SQL target format, does the discontinuation of the ACL format affect me?

For customers who only use SQL format, for example in connection with process mining solutions, this has no effect.

  • How long will the ACL target format still be available in updates?

The ACL format will still be available until 12/31/2021. For Subscription customers who renew after this period, the ACL Connector for SAP will then be the software that can be used in conjunction with Galvanize products. For perpetual customers, the ACL format will no longer be available from version 4.2 onwards when the software is updated accordingly.

  • What happens to my packages when I switch to the ACL Connector for SAP?

We support you with up to 1 consulting day free of charge in converting your existing dab:Exporter Download Packages to ACL Script in order to be able to carry out the downloads smoothly in the new ACL Connector for SAP software.

  • What happens to my scheduled automatic analysis runs?

These must be scheduled as part of the possibilities via ACL Scripts integrated in the individual products.

  • What happens to my own developed scripts?

You can continue to use your own ACL scripts / robots. Slight adjustments may be necessary within the scope of dependencies and the download packages, for which we will be happy to advise you initially.

  • I use the dab:AnalyticSuite, what changes for me?

When switching from dab:Exporter to the ACL Connector for SAP, you will not have to perform any additional work steps when running dab:AnalyticSuite, as dab:AnalyticSuite now independently guides the extraction of the required data from your SAP system.

A dynamic download is integrated as a feature in the download framework of dab:AnalyticSuite. With this, we always create a package in the background with tables and fields needed for the run of dab:AnalyticSuite, based on your analysis choice. You only need to enter the usual parameters such as company code, period etc. in the dialogue and the analysis run can start as usual - the download automatically precedes the analysis run.

The ACL Connector for SAP is integrated as a connector directly in the Galvanize analytics solution and therefore makes it possible to work automatically and integrated in one tool without having to switch between dab:Exporter and Analytics. For you as a user, this means less work and savings in working time.

If you work with individual download packages with dab:Exporter, this is no problem. We can convert these without much effort, incorporate them into the analysis scripts of the dab:AnalyticSuite and then execute them automatically. As a service from our side, we support you with up to 1 consulting day free of charge during the conversion.

  • Will my personal data continue to be encrypted during downloads (privacy protection)?

Yes, the ACL Connector for SAP also offers pseudonymisation of user-related data.
