ACL™ Analytics script automation
dab: Exporter can be automatically configured to append ACL™ Analytics scripts to the ACL™ Analytics project file and executed after the download is finished through the option ‘Append scripts to the ACL™ project after the export is finished’ in the Download Settings.
Please note that ACL™ Analytics script automation should only be used on standalone/local installations. We generally recommend the ACL™ Analytics AX for script automation in combination with the dab: Exporter. |
To be able to use the ACL™ Analytics AN script automation you must install ACL™ Analytics AN on the same computer as the dab: Exporter server. This ACL™ Analytics AN must be activated and it must be startable without any errors.
Adjust Windows Service user of dab: Exporter server
To change the windows user of the dab:Exporter Server, follow the instructions in this article for initial steps: Change user of dab:Exporter Windows service - dab:Help (dab-europe.com). This is the user who is assigned the dab: Exporter License and ACL License, and who can also activate the ACL™ Analytics AN and can start it. After the initial steps, follow the step-by-step images below to add the user.
Stop the dab:Exporter service and continue with the steps to adding the user.
Once the user is identified and password is entered, click on Apply and Ok. After this change you must restart the Windows Service dab: Exporter Server.
Every time the password of the windows user is changed this step has to be repeated because the new password will not be applied automatically! |
Configuration in dab:Exporter settings
In the dab: Exporter Settings you must select ACL™ Analytics and in the text field ACL™ executable you have to enter the path (4) to the ACLscript.exe (not ACLWin.exe). Save afterwards.
Default path for the ACLScript.exe is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ACL Software\ACL for Windows 14\ACLScript.exe
In the Download Settings, you can append scripts to the ACL™ project after the successful download. Therefore, you must put all the scripts in text format, in the directory path (3): C:\Users\Public\dabgmbh\dabexporter 4.0\data\scripts. This is a default path, and the directory can also be set in an alternate path of your choosing.
ACL™ Analytics scripts
ACL™ Analytics scripts have to be placed as text files (.txt) in the folder which is configured in the ACL™ Analytics settings in the dab:Exporter.
Those scripts must not have any user interaction e.g., showing any dialogs or waiting for user input. Moreover, the script has to close ACL™ Analytics AN at the end by using the QUIT statement or else the script execution will not end.
Download Settings
If you would like that one of your scripts starts after the successful export, then you must select the checkbox (2- Append scripts to the ACL project after the export is finished and Execute script after the export is finished) in the Download Settings. Afterwards you can choose one of your created scripts in the drop-down field on the right (3). Now the script will be executed automatically after the export.
