Description​

SAP Note 3255746 addresses the unauthorized use of the Operational Data Provisioning (ODP) Data Replication API by third-party applications.

General Consequences​

Non-SAP data ingestion tools (e.g. Azure DataFactory, Qlik Replicate, Google Cloud Data Fusion, SNP Glue) are likely to lose the ability to extract data via the ODP framework. The ODP is not ideal for large-scale data extraction.

Impact on dab products​

Our products are not affected because we do not use the ODP APIs.

Solution​

Organizations may need to adjust their data ingestion strategies to comply with the new restrictions. We recommend dab Nexus for data extraction from SAP systems as it is a compliant tool and not affected by this SAP Note.


Note 382318 - FAQ - Function module RFC_READ_TABLE​

Description​

SAP Note 382318 clarifies that the function module RFC_READ_TABLE is not supported for customer use and only intended for test and development purposes.

General Consequences​

The RFC_READ_TABLE function module is not supported for customer use. Using it may cause runtime errors and other problems such as timeouts, column count limitations, and data types.

Note 2971304 - SAP has not certified or offers any supported interfaces for redo log-based replication out of SAP HANA​

Description​
