CSV

Introduction

The CSV format can be used after setting up a download directory. The steps for setting up the download directory are described here.

Settings

In the settings, you can specify how the CSV file is to be output to you before a download. To do this, you have to change to the settings and select the option CSV.

The options

Write CSV header line

If this option is checked, the header line is written into the CSV file, which contains the name of the fields of the table.

Use field descriptions as header

In order to use this option, you have to check the box Write CSV header. This will enable this selection option and you can use it. This will use the field description for the header and not just the technical name.

Field Separator

You can also specify which separator to use for the CSV export. You can specify a specific character as well as a predefined option (tab jump).

Use table name as prefix

This option causes the table caption to be prefixed to the column captions.

Use table name as prefix for system field

When this setting is selected, the SYSTEM field is preceded by the table name.

Use Unicode

Windows-1252 (ANSI) encoding is used by default. Selecting this option exports the CSV files in Unicode (UTF-16) encoding.

Use package name as filename prefix

The last option allows you to prefix the data file with the name of the package.
